Nigerian Players seem to be out of favor in the transfer markets of late, gone are the days when our players were revered and sought after with the likes of  Kanu Nwankwo,  Austin JJ Okocha, Victor Ikpeba, Taribo West, Sunday Oliseh, George Finidi, just to mention a few.

The last transfer window saw a lot of movement by both our Nigerian players and their Foreign counterparts.

Some Nigerian players benefited from their moves in the likes of Victor Osimhen who replaced Nicholas Pepe at Lille after his move to Arsenal. Samuel Chukwueze who opted to stay back at Villarreal FC, Dennis Bonaventure that also stayed back in Club Brugges in the Belguim Jupiler League amongst interests from top clubs.

While players like Henry Onyekuru who had a blistering season at Galatasaray but still couldn't get his work permit to work in England rather opting for a move to Monaco ended up being a bench warmer for most of the first half of the season.

Same can be said of Leon Balogun who has barely started a game in the EPL for his club Brighton Hove and Albion, just managing one start and one substitute appearance in the EFL cup.

We have our African youth player of the year Samuel Chukwueze being touted by Chelsea Fc and Liverpool Fc, And Dennis Bonaventure being scouted by Manchester United.

 But would such transfer materialize?

Would those glory days of Nigerian Players being sought after by Top Clubs return again?
